Protecting Our Way of Life,
Fighting for Hawaiʻi’s Future

Jarrett represents a new generation of leadership that listens, reflects local values, and acts with urgency. He addresses problems now and centers the people who bear the cost when systems fail. His focus is on fixing root issues with solutions that last.

“I am committed to shaping policies that ensure we lower costs for local families, maintain public health & safety, and fight for Hawai'i's Future in Washington to protect Hawaiʻi’s unique way of life.”

Lowering Costs For Local Families

As a husband and father of three school-aged children, Jarrett fully understands the struggles of working families – because his family is living it, too. Jarrett has prioritized lowering costs for local people so that they can stay and thrive here in Hawaiʻi.

He wrote and passed legislation to halt spiraling insurance costs for condominiums. He worked to pass historic funding for affordable housing development and partnered with the community to pass laws to crack down on illegal vacation rentals across the state. He will continue to lower costs for local families in Congress by:

Expanding affordable housing

Lowering healthcare costs

Reversing the Trump tariffs

Maintaining Public Health & Safety

As the son of a nurse, health has always been a top priority for Jarrett. He has focused on centering our communityʻs health and safety where system-level failures exposed people and communities to risk. For example, he helped lead efforts to shut down the Navy’s Red Hill fuel storage facility and address groundwater contamination after the 2021 fuel spill.

As Health Committee Chair during the pandemic, he worked with experts to keep our hospitals from being overrun. And he worked with legislative leaders to pass tax exemptions for doctors and dentists who serve medicaid patients, so that low income families could still receive care. Jarrett will continue to maintain our public health & safety in Congress by:

Protecting safety net programs like SNAP, Social Security and Medicare

Expanding access to healthcare coverage and services

Requiring the Navy to clean up fuel contamination at Red Hill

Fighting For
Hawai'i's Future

As a next-generation policymaker, Jarrett has worked to modernize government by expanding transparency, accountability, and public access.

He implemented remote participation in public hearings and livestreamed the State Legislature to make government more accessible. He also played a key role in passing legislation to protect access to reproductive health care in Hawaiʻi following the overturning of Roe v. Wade. Jarrett will continue that fight in Congress by:

Defending democracy and the rule of law, protecting voting rights, and ensuring transparency and accountability in government, including stopping the violent, unconstitutional encroachment of ICE in our communities

Pushing back against billionaires who have co-opted our government and fighting the cronyism that has allowed Donald Trump to enrich himself while working families struggle

Reimaging the United States’ role on the world stage as a global peace leader by working to end unnecessary and costly conflicts, including opposing escalation toward war with Iran, and strengthening congressional oversight over military action and executive war powers
